The Regional Conference on Just Transitions: Sustainability and Environmental Justice in the Andean Countries was held at the Universidad de los Andes (Bogotá, Colombia) on July 10th and 11th, 2023. The conference was attended by approximately 90 researchers, professionals and students affiliated with universities, think tanks, social organizations and public entities from Colombia, Ecuador and the United Kingdom. The papers were selected from submissions received in response to a call for papers issued last April. A team of professors and researchers affiliated with the universities of the Andes, de Antioquia and Padua selected and commented the papers and chaired the panels. The participants presented 32 papers organized in 12 panels which addressed different aspects of socio-ecological transitions: energy transition, water justice, agriculture and food, citizen participation, urban planning, decarbonization, and pluriversal views on transitions. The conference was also attended by 26 graduate students from the Universidad de Antioquia (Medellín Colombia), the Universidad Andina Simon Bolivar (Quito, Ecuador) and the Universidad de los Andes. The conference was supported by the University of Giessen (Germany) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
